TaTU HOLDS 4TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY FOR 2021/2022 ACADEMIC COHORT

Saturday February 26th, 2022 marked a new beginning of over 2000 students in their academic pursuit, as they were officially welcomed into the Tamale Technical University Community by the Vice Chancellor Professor Abass Braimah. This year’s matriculation was the fourth since the Institution was converted from a Polytechnic into a Technical University. The Registrar of the University, Alhaji Yakubu Iddrisu ran the students through the matriculation oath.
In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abass Braimah, disclosed that, the past year alone, the University introduced about 20 Bachelor of Technology Programmes with their corresponding Higher National Diploma(HND) and Diploma of Technology Programmes.
Prof. Abass indicated that the University enrolled Two Thousand, Eight Hundred and Three (2,803) Students of which One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Thirty Four (1,834) are males and Nine Hundred and Fifty Five (955) are females giving a ratio of 2:1.
He further gave a breakdown of the admissions as Bachelor of Technology (B – Tech) Programmes received Eight Hundred and Ninety Four (894) Students; Higher National Diploma (HND) Certificate Programmes received Nine Hundred and Four (904) Students as well as other Diploma and Certificate Programmes receiving Nine Hundred and Ninety One (991) Students of the total number of students admitted.
He further advised that, students should build the culture and character of learning and to constantly adhere to the rules and regulations of the University as stated in their matriculation oath and strike the right balance between their academic work and social lives.
Ms. Araba Judith, a first year students of Hotel Catering and Institutional Management (HCIM) representing her colleagues thanked the University for accepting to admit them thus offering them the opportunities to seek knowledge and explore their potentials.
