Prof. Mas-ud Mustapha is an accomplished academic and agricultural development professional with a deep passion for advancing sustainable agriculture through research, innovation, and education. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Technology and his PhD from the University for Development Studies (UDS), Ghana, and holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Crop Science from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Since joining Tamale Technical University in 2012, Prof Mustapha has played a key role in shaping the institution’s growth and academic excellence. Over the years, he has served in various leadership capacities, including Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Head of the Department of Automotive Engineering, and Head of the Department of Sustainable Agriculture. His leadership extended beyond departmental management when he became the Director of the Institute of Agriculture and Environmental Research, where he championed research initiatives that bridged academia, industry, and community development. Due to his diligence, dedication and publications, he was promoted to senior lecturer in 2016 and later promoted to Associate Professor in 2024.
Prof. Mustapha is dedicated to promoting agricultural innovation, environmental sustainability, and the development of practical solutions that empower local farmers and students alike. His career reflects a strong commitment to knowledge sharing, mentorship, and the use of science and technology to improve livelihoods and drive national development
