Faculties wrapped up the 2nd annual games with a week of thrilling sports events that showcased the talents and competitive spirit of the university’s faculties. The games, which commenced on August 19 and concluded on August 24, 2024, brought together students across various faculties to compete in multiple sports disciplines.
The opening ceremony featured an intense soccer match between the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology (FAST) and the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources (FANR) and ended in a goalless draw.
The closing ceremony, which also saw an exciting soccer final match where the Faculty of Business (FOB) emerged victorious, defeating the Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology (FCAT) with a 2-1 scoreline.
Throughout the competition, the Faculty of Business (FOB) excelled, securing victories in key sports disciplines such as volleyball and tennis. Miss Elizabeth Alhassan from FOB distinguished herself by winning the women’s tennis title. The Faculty of Applied Science and Technology (FAST) demonstrated their prowess by triumphing in handball and table tennis, while the Faculty of Built and Natural Environment (FBNE) claimed the basketball championship. The Faculty of Creative Arts and Technology (FCAT) showcased their strength by dominating in badminton.
The final medal table crowned champions in the following categories: The Faculty of Business (FOB) emerged as champions in Men’s Soccer and Volleyball. The Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology (FAST) triumphed in Men’s Handball, while the Faculty of Built and Natural Enviroment (FBNE) claimed the title in Men’s Basketball.
The 2nd annual faculty games at TaTU highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness among its faculty members, setting the stage for even more competitive events in the years to come.
