Friday 16th June 2023, the Management of Tamale Technical University (TaTU) honored Prof. Marco Turco, GiZ Development Officer who is ending his tenure this June for his accomplishments.
During a dinner held in his name, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abass Braimah expressed the University’s gratitude to him for his diligent work. Prof. Abass acknowledged that he did not only fulfill his core mandate as a development officer, but he also initiated policies and programs that improved teaching and learning at the University.
Some of the notable initiatives mentioned by the Vice Chancellor included the establishment of the University’s Center for Diversity and Equal Opportunities, the procurement of a new Tractor for the Faculty of Agriculture, and outreach programs to rural communities, among many other activities. These efforts undoubtedly made a significant impact on the university and its surrounding communities.
In recognition of Prof. Marco’s contributions, the University presented him with a citation. This citation serves as a formal acknowledgment of his dedication, commitment, and achievements during his tenure as the GiZ Development Officer from August 2021 to June 2023.
The faculty of Agriculture also presented a citation to honor Prof. Marco on Monday 19th June 2023.
It’s wonderful to see the University Management acknowledging and appreciating the hard work and positive impact of Prof. Marco Turco. Recognitions like these not only motivate individuals but also inspire others to strive for excellence and contribute to the betterment of their respective institutions and communities.
