The Siemens Foundation has invited the Vice Chancellor of Tamale Technical University (TaTU), Prof. Abass Braimah, to join them in Accra, Ghana for their STEM project. The invitation was extended through the Germany Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Daniel Krull, and the event took place at his residence in Accra.
The Headmasters of Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO) and Tamale Senior High School (TAMASCO) were also in attendance at the event. The purpose of the gathering was to introduce the participating institutions to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and to highlight the efforts of Siemens Stiftung in promoting STEM education in lower-level educational institutions in Ghana.
Nina Smidt, the Managing Director of Siemens Foundation, provided a briefing on how the foundation operates and encouraged the attendees to collaborate with them to promote STEM education in Ghana. The foundation aims to work together with educational institutions and stakeholders to enhance STEM education across the country.
During the event, HRM Notse Professor Nii Nortey Owua IV, representing the Osu traditional area, expressed excitement that the Siemens Foundation has prioritized STEM education. He pledged the commitment and support of his traditional area in the STEM project taking place in Accra.
This event seems to have brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from educational institutions, the Siemens Foundation, the German Embassy, and the traditional authorities, all with a shared goal of promoting STEM education in Ghana.
