Tamale Technical University, launches the “TaTU Smart Workplace”

Tamale Technical University, launches the “TaTU Smart Workplace” at a colourful ceremony attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, Directors, Heads of department, and some members of staff from both teaching and administration. The event was held on 13th August, 2024 at the ICT Auditorium of the University.

The Director of ICT, Ing. Abdul-Shakud Iddrisu who introduced the project to the audience, explained that the TaTU Smart Workplace had come to stay and would henceforth be the working trend in the University. He described the TaTU Smart Workplace as the “Lamborghini” of all workspaces for its adaptability and forte. He indicated that the launch followed from a workshop he attended with the Vic-Chancellor which was organized by GTEC and NITA with eSolutions, a service provider currently managing the Government of Ghana’s Digital Transformation in the country.

The launch was done by the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Prof. Adams Issahaku. In his address he commended the University Authority for the giant step in introducing the Smart Workplace initiative which he noted had been possible because the ingenuity which abounds in the University was explored. He also stated that the introduction of the Smart Workplace was going to bring about change in the ways of doing things in the University and advised all and sundry to embrace the change with positive inclination. The Dean also stated that the introduction of the Smart Workplace was timely and well-thought out. He concluded with the assurance that leadership of the University would equip members of staff with the requisite skills to effectively utilize the space and reap the full benefits.

On his part the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bashiru I. I. Saeed urged the University Community to welcome the Smart Workplace to improve their work schedules. He advised that the University was not an island and therefore, should go with growing trends and innovations. He hinted that the ICT Directorate had been tasked to submit a proposal for support to ease access and use of the Smart Workplace, which he said would be speedily honoured.
