Absa bank has donated fifty (50) desk top computers to Tamale Technical University, as part of their social responsibility. The Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs- Absa Bank, Nana Essilfuah Tamakloe who did the donation on behalf of Absa, said the Bank deems fit to give back to the society especially a technical university that is poised towards developing the intellectuals for the job market.
She further assured management of the University of more collaborations. She added that the bank has introduced the “Ready to work Program” which seeks to develop the skills and knowledge of students to meet the requirements of the banking industry. She added that the program seeks to prepare students for the job market and they will be glad to add TaTU students to the initiative.
The Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, Prof. Adam Yussif Bawa, who received the computers on behalf the University said the entire university community was grateful for the gesture and assured Absa that the computers would enhance practical learning of the students and also said the computer would be taken good care of, and called for more collaborations. Prof. Bawa also charged Lecturers and students to take care of the computers and also use them for the intended purpose.
On his part, the Registrar, Alhaji Iddrisu Yakubu expressed his gratitude on behalf of the University for the kind gesture from Absa Bank and that the university was ready for more of such collaboration.
