I heartily welcome you to the webpage of the faculty of Allied Health and Pharmaceutical sciences (FAPH), Tamale Technical University (TaTU). The faculty’s mandate is to train highly qualified, competent and results oriented health professionals in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, and other allied health professions. The mandate of the faculty also includes the training of highly skilled pharmacists, nurses and midwives.
The health sector comprises various professions who work as a team to achieve the ultimate goal of providing quality health care for patients. In other to achieve this goal the training of these health professionals in the same faculty provides the conducive atmosphere for building bridges and synergies towards forming strong team of professionals who will work to advance the interest of patients
. The faculty therefore collaborates with the Allied Health Professions Council, Pharmacy Council, and Nurses and Midwifery Council in order to develop curricula that are in line with the vision of the various professional bodies, the university and the entire nation. The university has a hospital situated within the campus which facilitates the training of our students by providing them with access to qualified and competent health professionals, equipment, medical facilities and patients.
The products from this faculty will help in the prevention, treatment and management of disease conditions in our hospitals and health facilities. These professionals can also work in academic, research, regulatory, pharmaceutical manufacturing outlets, biotechnology companies, forensic laboratories, hotels, disability centers, among others.
Plans are underway for the introduction postgraduate programmes in the biomedical sciences
