It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to you all to the Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Research (IAER). The IAER of the Tamale Technical University was established to coordinate all agricultural and environmental research activities of the University. The Institute is the result of a policy direction that assigned niche areas to all the Technical Universities in Ghana based on areas of comparative advantages. Tamale Technical University (TaTU) is located in the heart of the Northern Region of Ghana, where agriculture is the major occupation of the people. Therefore, identifying TaTU with agriculture as the niche area is not only appropriate but also accurate. In lieu, the IAER was established to strengthen the university’s core mandate in agriculture by fostering research, innovation, and capacity building through strategic partnership and collaborations with relevant players in the sector. As we strive for excellence in addressing agricultural and environmental challenges, our collective efforts are pivotal in shaping sustainable solutions.
