MINISTER OF EDUCATION DONATES 50 COMPUTERS TO TAMALE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY


The Minister of Education, Honorable Haruna Iddrisu has donated fifty (50) brand-new desktop computers to the Tamale Technical University (TaTU) to enhance teaching, learning, and research in the institution.

The presentation, made on behalf of the Minister by a delegation from the Tamale Metropolis, took place at the forecourt of the University’s Administration on Monday, November 10, 2025. The donation forms part of the Minister’s broader effort to promote digital literacy and strengthen ICT infrastructure across tertiary institutions in the country.

The Governing Council Chairman of the University, Mandari-Wura Alhaji Seidu Iddi, warmly welcomed the kind gesture of the Honorable Minister, stating the progress of various projects implemented by the University for Productivity, student’s welfare and discipline in the University to achieve the highest form of professionals in the society.

Receiving the items, the Vice-Chancellor of Tamale Technical University, Prof. Bashiru Ibn Imoro Saeed, expressed gratitude to the Minister for his continuous support. He promised that the computers would be distributed across various departments to improve students’ access to digital learning tools and practical training.

“This gesture comes at a crucial time when technology has become an integral part of academic work. It will go a long way in improving teaching efficiency and helping our students acquire the digital skills needed in today’s job market,” he added.

The leader of the delegation, Abdulai Baba, who spoke on behalf of the Minister, emphasized the Minister’s commitment to bridging the digital divide in education. He stated that the donation reflects the Minister’s aim to resolve and equip students with the necessary technological tools to compete globally. Management together with the Student Representative Council, who witnessed the event expressed excitement about the development, describing it as a timely intervention that would ease pressure on the university’s computer laboratories
