The Ghana Technical Education (GTECH) has introduced an online electronic registration system for all Technical Universities, streamlining the accreditation and re-accreditation process.
To ensure a seamless transition, GTECH recently trained Quality Assurance Officers at the Tamale Technical University (TaTU) on the new technology, known as the Accreditation Management Information System (AMIS).
The training, which took place from January 28 to 30, 2025 covered the essential features and expectations of the AMIS.
The Director of Quality Assurance at TaTU, Dr. Jamal-Deen led the three-day training session for various faculty members.
The training seeks to improve the knowledge of faculty lecturers to be abbressed with the online electronic registration system for all Technical Universities, streamlining the accreditation and re-accreditation process.
The Vice Chancellor of TaTU, Prof. Bashiru Ibn Saeed commended GTECH for introducing the online system, noting that the manual submission process had hindered progress in the past.
Dr. Jamal-Deen expressed confidence in the success of the training, stating that the staff from various faculties had acquired the necessary skills to effectively utilise the AMIS.
He said with this development, TaTU is poised to join other universities in embracing digital solutions, enhancing its operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Participants expressed enthusiasm for the training, recognising its potential to improve their work efficiency.
