In a show of gratitude and respect, SHI-NAA Iddrisu Yakubu who is also the Registrar of the University and his delegation paid a courtesy visit to the University on, Tuesday 10, June, 2025. The visit was to show his appreciation for their unwavering support during his Coronation last Monday, 2 June, 2025 at the Sagnarigu chief palace.
The delegation which was led by the SHI- NAA was received by the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University; Prof Abdul-Manan Dauda and other officials of the University.
During the visit, the spokesperson for the SHI-NAA expressed deep appreciation to the institution for its financial, morale and logistical support, which contributed significantly to the success of the coronation ceremony. “We are truly grateful for the encouragement and support we received from the management. Your involvement gave us the motivation to plan and execute a memorable coronation that brought pride to Shigu, SHI- NAA Yakubu Iddrisu” he added.
In his response, the Pro Vice Chancellor commended the SHI- NAA and his delegation for their dedication, organization, and display of maturity throughout the planning and execution of the ceremony and for giving the University the opportunity to celebrate with the SHIGU Community. He added that, the coronation ceremony, held last Monday, 2 June, 2025 was a colorful celebration characterized by the display of the rich culture and traditions of the Dagbon people. The Pro Vice Chancellor added that, events like this, not only promote culture and unity but also fosters leadership, creativity and a strong sense of identity among all.
The visit ended with the exchange of goodwill messages, photographs, and appellations to SHI-NAA Iddrisu Yakubu.
