The Guidance and Counseling Department of the Tamale Technical University has organized a sent-off ceremony for Rev. Benjamin Asamoah, outgoing Director of the department. The ceremony which was held on January 31, 2025 hosted key officers from other departments of the institution to witness the occasion and to express good wishes for him.
Rev. Benjamin who assumed office in 2009, recounted his days at the office. “as the Director for Guidance and Counseling in Tamale Technical University , I was new to the work that lies ahead of me because there was no directions, guidance, nothing, not even a good office but by the grace of God, and with the support of the team we worked hard and today we have an office mainly for the matters and affairs of the Guidance and Counseling Services”.
Rev. Benjamin took the new administration through the duties of the office and how to build a good relationship between the office,students and staffs of the University.
Mr. Benjamin encouraged the students to continue to seek guidance and counseling from the department. He said the services of the department is not for students alone but staff inclusive.
He lamented about the anti-sexual harassment policy initiated by the school which has not been given the necessary attention. He explained that there are still key challenges needed to be addressed for people to accept the policy fully. He urged the students to accept the policy in good faith in order to safeguard their stay in the school.
He admonished the new administration to work together as a team for the progress and future of the University.
Mr. Nija, a representative from Human Resources Department commended Rev. Benjamin Asamoah for the massive work he and his team has produced over the years. He asked God’s guidance for his next endeavors.
Mr Nija emphasized that the University is not just parting ways with him but will always consult him if the need arises as they will still work together as one.
