TaTU AND GIZ COLLABORATE FOR A GREENER CAMPUS

In a collaborative effort to promote environmental sustainability, Tamale Technical University (TaTU) partnered with GiZ to organize a seminar titled “Keep TaTU clean” during the 2023/2024 SRC week celebrations. The event, held on 13th August 2024 at the ICT auditorium, was aimed to raise awareness about sustainable practices and inspire positive environmental change within the university community.

In her welcome address, the GiZ advisor, Miss Erika Le Mare emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship in modern education. Giving the keynote address, The TaTU’s green Coordinator, Miss Gloria Pamela Adablah, highlighted the significance of cultivating a green campus at TaTU. She encouraged students and staff to actively participate in creating an eco-friendlier environment.

Presenting on plastic reduction and sanitation on campus, Mr Hassan Suhuyini of the Estate Department of TaTU gave a practical insight on minimizing plastic waste on campus. He also reechoed TaTU’s commitment to environmental sustainability and inspired the university community to act towards a greener future. The event concluded with a thought – provoking panel discussion on strategies for waste reductions, where participants shared actionable steps for achieving a cleaner, more sustainable campus.
