The Tamale Technical University (TaTU) has urged products of the Dabokpa Technical Institute to consider TATU as their first choice in their next educational ladder as it could give them the best of training in engineering, technical and social science based disciplines.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor of TaTU, Professor Bashiru Ibn Imoro Saeed who interacted with the students during an outreach programme on Tuesday, 26 April, 2022, indicated that TaTU was the best tertiary institution that could inculcate practical and skills based training on them.
He added that TaTU had several programmes that will meet the needs and future aspirations of any student interested in pursuing any vocational, technical, engineering and social science based courses at the tertiary level and urged prospective students to visit the website of the university to avail themselves of their choice.
Prof. Saeed commended the management of Dabokpa Institute for initiating such an important outreach programme to afford the students prepare themselves well for their future careers and expressed the readiness of TaTU in assisting them meet their dreams.
Ing. Iddrisu Shakur, Director of ICT of TaTU who sensitized the students on the admission processes said there are opportunities for prospective applicants to apply while waiting for their final results.
He said admission process on TaTU’s portal was seamless stressing that they should not hesitate to contact the university with any challenges they may encounter while applying to the school.
Mr Fuseini Iddrisu, Assistant Registrar in-charge of Admissions took the students through the available academic programmes at TaTU and the respective admission requirements.
Mrs. Mariama Mahama, Principal of the Dabokpa Technical Institute expressed the need for the two institutions to collaborate for mutual benefits.
She commended TaTU for mounting innovative technical and vocational programmes that will offer some hope to the youth who are interested in becoming employers instead of producing graduates for non-existent jobs.
Mrs. Mahama expressed her gratitude to the team for the opportunity to share with her students and urged the students to take advantage of the team’s visit to learn more about the academic programmes available at TaTU for their future academic progression.
The students were offered opportunity to ask various questions ranging from academic programmes to entering requirements for each programme. They expressed their optimism of prioritizing TaTU in their next academic journey.
Mr. Osman Mubarik Abu, the Director of Public Affairs of the University informed the students of a scheduled Open Day to be organized by TaTU. He called on them to patronize the said event for more information about the University. He hinted that the University will soon embark on similar visits to other Technical and Vocational schools as part of their efforts to bring higher technical education to their doorstep.
