In a significant milestone for applied research and innovation in Northern Ghana, Tamale Technical University (TaTU) has been officially announced as the host institution for the 5th Applied Research Conference of Technical Universities of Ghana (ARCTUG 2028). This prestigious designation marks a new chapter in the university’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and industry collaboration.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities of Ghana (VCTU-G) and Vice-Chancellor of Sunyani Technical University, Ing. Prof. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah. The declaration took place during the closing ceremony of the 4th Applied Research Conference of Technical Universities of Ghana (ARCTUG 2026), which was successfully hosted at Takoradi Technical University on Friday, May 29, 2026.
The transfer of hosting duties is more than a mere administrative handover; it is recognized as one of the cherished traditions of the conference series. Prof. Adinkrah-Appiah formally entrusted Tamale Technical University with the responsibility of organizing the next edition of the biennial event. ARCTUG has firmly established itself as the foremost platform for advancing applied research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-academia collaboration among Ghana’s Technical Universities.
Delivering his announcement to applause from conference participants, Prof. Adinkrah-Appiah emphasized the significance of the moment.
“It is my singular honour and privilege, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities of Ghana, to officially announce Tamale Technical University as the host institution for the 5th Applied Research Conference of Technical Universities of Ghana (ARCTUG 2028),” he declared.
He extended his congratulations to the Governing Council, Management, staff, students, alumni, and the entire TaTU community, describing the hosting role as both a profound honour and a significant responsibility.
