The Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana – Tamale Technical University (GRASAG–TaTU) is the representative body for students enrolled in postgraduate programmes at Tamale Technical University (TaTU). The Association is committed to promoting and safeguarding the academic, social, religious, professional, and general interests of graduate students.
GRASAG–TaTU provides a platform through which postgraduate students can collectively express their views, engage with University Management, and contribute meaningfully to the development of the University and the wider community.
Aim
The primary aim of GRASAG–TaTU is to promote and protect the academic, social, religious, professional, and general welfare of all postgraduate students of Tamale Technical University. The Association shall also act as the principal representative and collective voice of postgraduate students in engagements with the University authorities and other relevant institutions on matters concerning graduate education and student welfare.
Objectives
The objectives of GRASAG–TaTU shall include the following:
To promote and defend the rights and legitimate interests of postgraduate students in accordance with the statutes, regulations, policies, and established procedures of Tamale Technical University.
To provide an effective channel of communication between postgraduate students and the University Management, Faculties, Departments, Schools, and other relevant authorities on issues affecting graduate students.
To foster collaboration and constructive relationships with student associations, professional organizations, academic bodies, civil society organizations, and other institutions on matters of common interest.
To promote academic and intellectual development by organizing seminars, workshops, lectures, conferences, symposia, research presentations, and other educational programmes that contribute to the academic growth of members.
To encourage social interaction and unity among postgraduate students by organizing appropriate social, cultural, religious, and recreational activities that promote friendship, cooperation, and a sense of belonging.
To create opportunities for professional development through networking events, career programmes, mentorship initiatives, research engagements, and other activities that enhance the professional capabilities of members.
To promote research, innovation, and knowledge sharing among postgraduate students and encourage members to contribute to the academic and developmental needs of the University and society.
To represent the collective interests of postgraduate students in appropriate University committees, meetings, consultations, and other forums where matters concerning graduate students are discussed.
To promote responsible leadership, transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in the affairs and activities of the Association.
To support initiatives that contribute to the overall welfare and development of postgraduate students, while maintaining constructive relations with the University authorities and other stakeholders.
