Tamale Technical University is located in the Sagnarigu Municipality of the Northern Region. The Municipality was carved out from Tamale Metropolis. The school is about 3 kilometers away from the Tamale central business district. The institution shares boundary with two major educational institutions and two local communities. The institutions are Tamale Senior High School to the South-West and Bagabaga College of Education to the North-West. The communities are Wurishe community which is situated to the North and Choggu community to the East. The University occupies a total landmass of 715,064.4 metre square.
