  Published : by
Thursday 12th, January 2023, two staff of the United States Embassy in Accra paid a working visit to the Tamale Technical University(TaTU) to interact and share with the University some of the programs and activities that are of relevance to the growth of the institution. The team comprised of  Mrs. Jennifer Green and Mrs. Bernice Affotey of the Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy. They shared with the University the various educational exchange program opportunities available for the Students and Faculty  of TaTU to explore. The team explained the various categories and stages of educational opportunities in the United States and encouraged the University to explore these programs to enhance teaching and learning. They revealed to Management that the US Embassy also offers various funding for educational projects/programs and encouraged TaTU to take advantage and apply accordingly when the call for proposals are opened. They indicated the willingness of the US Embassy to partner with TaTU and other higher educational institutions in the country to promote quality education delivery.
Professor Adam Bawah Yusif, Dean of Faculty of Applied Arts on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor expressed TaTU’s gratitude to the team for their visit and especially for the valuable information regarding the exchange program opportunities. Prof Bawa seized the opportunity to remind the US Embassy to prioritize a request from TaTU to establish the ‘American Corner’ on its campus. The University also appealed to the US Embassy to look in the direction of less endowed technical and vocational institutions of higher learning like TaTU when proposals are submitted for funding of programs/projects that will facilitate teaching and learning.
Some University Management staff, Deans and Academic Directors were also in attendance during the visit.
