The Governing Council of Tamale Technical University has held an investiture for the new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abass Braimah. The event was held on Saturday 31st October, 2020 in the university at the forecourt of the Engineering Laboratory Block. Following his investiture, Professor Braimah becomes the first substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university since its conversion from a Polytechnic to a Technical University in 2018.
The mammoth gathering was attended by high-profile dignitaries including, the Northern Regional Minister, Honourable Salifu Saeed, the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Abdul Nashiru Issahaku, the Chief Director at the Ministry of Education, who represented the Minister, Professor Baba Insah, the Chairman and Members of the Governing Council of the university, the immediate past acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, Engr. Dr. Abdul-Manan Dauda, former Rector of Tamale Polytechnic, Professor Abdulai Salifu Asuro, Vice-Chancellors of sister universities and family members and friends of Professor Braimah. Some chiefs and traditional rulers were in attendance too.
The ceremony was jointly organised with the 2nd congregation of the university. Six hundred and thirty-three (633) students graduated with various classes across several disciplines.
